#sorryzoe: Hitching a Ride
#sorryzoe, your brother has loved toting things around ever since he could walk. He never wanted to sit in the stroller because he wanted to push it himself. He never let mommy or daddy pull the luggage at the airport because he wanted to do it. Even when the luggage outweighed him, he insisted on being the one in charge of it. So naturally, when mommy put you in the wagon to go to the park, your brother needed to be the one to pull the wagon.
It was a short walk to the park so mommy thought, no big deal. Plus, it was super cute anyway to see him “take care” of you. Shortly after we embarked on our way, mommy realized that she forgot your brother is like Dug the Dog in Up. He gets distracted by everything – a leaf lying on the grass, a roly-poly bug scrambling by, or even just a random rock lying on the sidewalk. Therefore, the trip to the park turned out to be quite long with a lot of unplanned stops. And since toddlers cannot control their own strength, every time your brother stopped the wagon, he would then pull it really hard to get it moving again… which caused you to fall over and roll around in the wagon. Once, he even stopped because he noticed that the wind was blowing on your ponytail and apparently, that was just hilarious. The good news – we made it to the park before sundown. The bad news – he wanted to pull you all the way back home as well.
