End of the Year Wrap-Up: My Top #momlife Tweets in 2017
I have been active on Twitter for almost a year now, and I have learned one thing: I have no idea whatsoever what people find funny. Sometimes I think that I came up with the most brilliant tweet ever – I mean, we are talking Oscar-winning tweets here – but then I get no likes or retweets. Other times, I just type a quick tweet in an effort to blow off steam after my kids did something that made me want to pull my hair out, and those appear to be the tweets that get the most attention. So, after a year of tweeting, here are some key learnings:
1. Don’t bother trying to figure out how to make your tweet “better.” Just tweet whatever comes to your mind. Twitter is not calculus, and there is no formula to get more likes.
2. Don’t think of a tweet and wait to tweet it later. You will not remember for the life of you what you wanted to tweet about, and it will haunt you the rest of the day.
3. Although Twitter raised the 140 words limit, still stick to the good ol’ KISS rule (Keep it Short, Stupid) because nobody wants to read a long tweet.
That said, one of my random tweets did get noticed by Babble (one of my favorite parenting blogs) as one of the funniest tweets of the week. I was so ecstatic when I saw it! People actually think I am funny! It’s not just in my head! Check it out here.
Since not everyone is on Twitter, here are some of my most popular tweets 2H of 2017.
