My name is Betty.
I am a 35-year old mom living with my husband Marc, our beautiful daughter Zoe, and our handsome son Alex in SoCal.
I spend my days trying to keep my little ones alive. I spend any free time I have trying to find recipes that are toddler-friendly and activities that actually keep my kids’ attention for more than 5 minutes. If I can find 5 minutes to close my eyes here and there, I declare victory for the day. Oh, and it turns out that keeping my kids TV-free and sugar-free is close to impossible. Working out? Does chasing after my kids count?
Here are some fun facts about me:
- My favorite food is pizza. At one point after giving birth to my son, I had Costco pizza for 4 weeks in a row. Every, single day.
- My birth name is Yi-Jiun Lin. My English teacher in Taiwan named me Ryan by picking a random name out of a list. I couldn’t pronounce Ryan so I asked my teacher to pick out another name – And that’s how I ended up with Betty.
My husband, Marc
Marc is a dedicated father and one hard working dude. He is a corporate attorney who finds law a little too exciting for my understanding. Everything he does, he does it with 110%, and that includes both being a father and being a good lawyer. Kids all love him because he is fun, crazy, and willing to play with them hours on end. I love him because he cares so much about his family, and I cannot imagine being married to a better husband.
My son, Alex
Alex is 3 years old and a crazy, energetic toddler. He doesn’t smile much and maintains his poker face during fun and exciting situations, but he is actually screaming with happiness inside. Like most boys his age, he loves trains and construction vehicles. He also loves books – he can sit and listen to stories for hours.
My daughter, Zoe
Zoe is almost 1 year old and she is one of the happiest babies I have ever known. If she is not hungry or sleepy, most likely she is smiling and laughing. Her favorite person in the world besides mommy would be her big brother. She just loves playing with him and watching him play. Since I am a stay-at-home mom, she is usually with me as I run errands and embark on new adventures.
Our dog, Bliss
Bliss is the best dog ever. She is so friendly and loves all people, especially the ones who would give her a butt rub. When I was 5 months pregnant with Alex, my husband asked if I want a babymoon or a dog. I picked a dog. I have never made a better decision in my life. Bliss has been such a joy in our family, and the kids both adore her and want to play with her so much. I could not imagine our family without Bliss, the fur sister to both Alex and Zoe.
